Equipment and Mat Pilates
We do love our Pilates Reformers but it’s good to have a play on some of the other equipment and small accessories to get an all round appreciation of the wonderful world of Pilates!
Springboard and Tower Pilates
The Springboard is essentially a wall mounted Pilates Cadillac. Much like the Reformer various levels of springs are employed to challenge your body.
Working on the Springboard will provide and even greater connection to your core and deep stabilising muscles.
Arms and legs work independently using the loaded springs. You work through the same range of start up positions as on the Reformer. It is a great piece of equipment to help with balance and functional movement.
The Springboard is suitable for all levels, and is the perfect way to fully stretch and mobilise your body.

The Wunda Chair
The Pilates chair is one of the more challenging pieces of equipement we use. However it still has its place for rehabilitation work.
One of the original pieces Joseph Pilates designed, originally it converted easily into an armchair. The idea being it could fit comfortably into someones apartment.
As with the Reformer and Springboard tension is created using springs which are attached to a pedal on one side of the box. It has detachable long handles, which can help support and or challenge the user.
Again you can work through the range of set up positions, from seated, prone, side lying etc. Because the surface area is quite small there is a lot more balance involved which can make chair work pretty demanding. It is a great way to build arm and leg work but it can also be used to support rehab work.
Mat Pilates
Our live Mat Pilates classes are taught in our airy and spacious studio. The tranquil space is the perfect place to focus on your own personal health and well being with a Pilates Training session.
Class sizes are kept small to ensure you get the maximum amount of attention and really get the most out of your training session. In the group sessions Tess is able to offer adaptations to enable you to get the most out of each session whilst enjoying the warmth and banter of a group workout.
As with the Reformer Pilates classes we have regular clients who attend in term blocks so if you are interested in Mat Pilates contact me to find out availability and to be added to the waiting list. Only two Mat Pilates classes are run each week so spaces are very limited.
Mixed class bookings are £10 per person and are charged in half term blocks.
Recorded Classes
Pilates On Demand pre recorded Pilates sessions can be purchased for unlimited use with a monthly subscription.
Classes are taught as mixed ability and designed to compliment the live sessions. There are also some 15 minute short sessions focusing on key areas for those times when you don’t have the motivation or energy to do a full workout.
The On Demand sessions are available for a monthly subscription of only £10. Once you have subscribed you will be sent an email link every month to view the videos at a time that suits you on Vimeo. You can cancel your subscription at any time. If you are interested please send us an email and we can let you know how to sign up.
